Actions undertaken

Nearly one year ago NSS began to support actively “Nochlezhka”, these are the achievements:

• From the 2nd to the 9th of October 2009, Radio Suisse Romande offered a moment to NSS on his show "Everybody for all”. An appeal was launched to accept gifts of material useful to Nochlezhka.

• On the 8th of September, NSS attended a meeting of Rotary Riviera in Montreux.

• On July the 31st, NSS has paid the sum of six thousand francs in the framework of the campaign "Save the Bus".

• NSS since the beginning of May 09 has been campaigning to save the night bus and food distribution.

• Since mid-April, the Vice-President of NSS is located in St. Petersburg for a period of six months to help Nochlezhka updating the information technology service, fitted as a long term project.

• NSS received in late December, a donation of 2,000 francs from a village in Valais.

• This amount was distributed as follows: 400 francs to repay in part the purchase of medicines from early October, 100 francs for administrative costs, and the sum of 1,500 francs have been delivered by hand to Nochlezhka on January 25th, to cover the costs of the emergency center.

• A dinner to support NSS was organized at the University of Lausanne on December the 17th.

• Warm clothes to fight the winter were also transported to St. Petersburg

• the pharmaceutical firm “Inresa” based in Alsace (France) has agreed to provide us with cheap medicines certified by WHO.

• On December the 15th, the first donations of € 600 were sent to Nochlezhka to partially cover the emergencies faced by the center.

• Following close contact with one of our donor and the Swiss Ambassador to the United Nations, the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the United Nations agreed to send monthly medication harvested.

• From the earliest days of its existence, beginning in October, NSS has campaigned for sending medicines to Nochlezhka. On November 5th, they were handed to Nochlezhka through one of our members bound for St Petersburg. Their value amounts to 1035 francs.
